HyperX unveils standout new gaming gear

HyperX revealed its fall 2026 gaming lineup during a livestream event titled “Level Awakening.” The presentation included upgrades to headsets and mice, along with new color options for existing products, like a lavender Cloud III headset.

An open-back headset for under $150

The most notable release was the Cloud Alpha Air, HyperX’s first open-back gaming headset. Open-back designs allow sound to pass through, creating a more natural audio experience with a wider soundstage. This method is common in studio reference headphones but rare in gaming gear at this price point.

Weighing 275 grams, the Cloud Alpha Air features soft suede ear cups for long-term comfort. During testing, it delivered an immersive sound—less like audio confined to the ears and more like a surround-sound system. The included boom microphone maintains the brand’s reputation for clarity, though the open design means sound leaks in both directions.

The $149 price makes it an accessible option for gamers interested in open-back headsets without the high cost of professional models.

A trio of gaming mice for every playstyle

HyperX expanded its Pulsefire Haste 3 line with three versions, each targeting different needs. The base model is a wired mouse weighing 45 grams (68g with cable), offering a 1K polling rate for $39. It suits players who value reliability over wireless features.

The wireless version increases the weight to 52 grams and supports 8K polling via a USB dongle, though most users won’t notice a difference from 1K. It costs $89.

The top-tier Pulsefire Haste 3 Pro Wireless reduces weight to 47 grams using carbon fiber and includes glass skates for smoother movement.

All three share a symmetrical design with two reprogrammable buttons.

Gaming hardware often involves trade-offs—lightweight mice may lack durability, wireless options drain batteries, and premium features raise costs. HyperX took a different approach by offering a range of choices, from budget to professional, without obvious weaknesses in any tier.
